She was a Performer

in poetry •  8 years ago

She was a performer to view

She ran her smile

And they so watchers

To her trial

So they cheered

Her teeth drew wide

With none to hide

But pity for

The smiles that died

Through and through

She chortled on

But laughter turned

To mourning long

She was a wooden mike

With lack of courage

And they so judges

Stabbing heart

Her running tears

Made sight a blur

And all the laughter

Turned on her

She was a dartboard

And they so darts

But they continued

Breaking hearts

As she lay there

Drenched in gore

Melancholy was her wish

For those who made her heart beat war

She was a bone

That cried alone

And they so drooped

A second long

Her body broke without a sound

And turned to ashes in the ground
