The Human Race

in poetry •  8 years ago

I run, I run to beat the clock

Why oh why we time our lives

And plot expiration

Who survives?

We time and rhyme

And pay each day

To cycle on the burning roads

We act surprised and summarise

Oh how we’re right

To medicate and save the fate

Of man with money

Yet we kill the man

That begs for food

He always ran

He followed your clock

And watched you mess

With all the rest

Of lives that were forced to stay

No point killing Earth

To save a few

When many die

What a nice guy

They said

Stop living to get rich

And get rich

On what cavemen smoked

For that is rich life

I see you like games

Well life’s a game

And you are beating

But you are cheating

And shooting my porn

All because I am reborn

My car is fuelled on broken stones

And you sit there

Behind your modified tree stump

Loving global warming

But I ask you

To love the trees

And warm the globe

This globe warms my heart

And that is simple art

To steal pleasure

From simple leaves

With love and no judgement

I lack simple education

Because no one ever taught me

How to love myself

And not kill my neighbour

Because he is not perfect

And I was killed

For not being perfect

So he is dead

Because you stabbed me in the back

With those sharp words

Those words you say to me

Kill me everyday

Because I thought

That those words

Were all I would ever be
