THIS RAIN OF FEAR

The silent night blew the hope of peace
Until rain rained fear on our land.
Our hearts swayed to the tune of panic
As bombshot sapped our courage.

The fluttering peaceful flag dropped
Bullets sang the hymn of hallelujah in the air,
Went through the flesh of men for solace,
And legs laid stiff under the blazing sun.

Hunger rained without break
Thirst flooded the land of blacks
Blessed by fruits of the soil,
Giant with the lifestyle of ants.

Men rose to seek refuge
Refuge from the strokes of rain
Watering their shirt with reekin poverty
And sailed out to feed the mouth of lion.

This
Rain of
Fear led them
To Gomorrah
Of slavery to water their withered hope
In the lair of the roaring beast of death
Death devoured them
To fill his
Reekin
Mouth.
