famished (original poem)

famished

my hunger aches deep
down.
swollen, clenching
and straining the hand
that gives;
my desire,
lays languishing in rooms
now sanctuaries of your fare.
ease this fervid pressure,
untie this writhing knot…

your heat oscillates deep
down.
I’m too eager as the first course
enters, the wet slap of serving
becomes a primatial music of ritual.
you respond to rising echoes,
bend with open mouth…

our chemicals release deep
down.
I’m now heavy,
spent from frenzied
feeding and grabbing;
I burst,
lying fat with satisfaction,
floating above our tousled table,
buzzing from our feast.
