I saw Molue, today.
It's been almost a decade since we saw
He's still dressed in his arrogant splendor
With his intimidating masculine body
Wide enough to block a thousand busses behind
Pride hanging on his shoulders like a foreign witch's shoulder pads
He honk and brag about his size and height
Yes, still that fat bully lad on the high way
Parading himself as the boss no other bus can overthrow
I saw his toothless gob, broad and ever ready for a brawl. Yet, as a toothless dog, he can only bark but can't bite.
He boasts of being the people's person because he offers transit at low cost
Whose seat can take 29 people sitting, 99 people standing and 59 people lapping
From Orile to Oshodi oke or Oshodi isale, that's always his route

I saw Molue today
A late night and early morning walker
Where does he hide during the day?
Is he ashamed of his boisterous size?
Does other vehicles body shame him?
I thought he said he owns the high way?

I saw Molue today
He has changed his robe
From yellow and black to white and black with no external adornment
He thinks he'll be forever young by doing so
Tell him he's old and gray, he needs to retire
But Lagos is a no land that grants her inhabitants retirement
Tell Molue to go back home
And stop seducing gullible pedestrians with it deceitful size
If you must enter Molue, hold your change o, else conductor will marry you to someone for balance or beat you if you disturb him any further
The pick pockets are also rushing to enter with you, be smart to shine your eyes.

I saw Molue today
In him was the drug seller who sells a tablet that cures all ailment, a clergy man who sells the gospel, intellectuals debating on national issues, dutiful conductors, and angry faces with sweat dripping from the person sitting and standing beside and in front of you.

I saw Molue today and I pitied his old age
I shook my head, heeved a deep sigh and walked away
Stop causing us more pollution with your heavy breath of intoxicating smoke
Can't you see your strength is already gone? You drag your feet to walk!
Poor old man, with or without you Lagos highway will be busy, go get yourself retired!
