Me

because I feel like kicking arse

My fight
I awake to uncertainties
Insecurities threatening me
Desires mocking me
They believe it's me
My old self who cower
And tremble at their feet
I let them smirk and toast
I watched them drink and merry
Knowing it will be their last

My rebellion
I come home with weak legs
My arms are broken
My muscles are sore
For a moment I let them win
Their snigger got to me
Until I remembered my promise
I stood tall with determination
I crushed and ruined
I destroyed them inch by inch

My strength
I hear a voice calling me
Nudging me awake
It tells me to open my eyes
And face my demons
It pushes me over my deepest fears
I'm born anew
Like a sinner who finds salvation
Like a warrior after his first battle

Weird fact: I was half asleep and dreaming with this in my head. I was writing it and my Mama was asking if I had eaten (all in the dream). I woke and forgot everything I wrote, save for the beginning, and that was much better.

How are you this new year?

Like I said...

I don't know how this will be perceived by anyone who reads it but.

You have the capability of making love to my soul when you write poetry. It's like you speak for me. On my behalf. But in sync with me. Thank you for sharing your soul ♡
