The ballad opens with a depiction of a field by a waterway. There's a street going through the field that prompts Camelot, the incredible palace of King Arthur. From the street you can see an island amidst the stream called the Island of Shalott. On that island there is a little stronghold, which is the home of the baffling Lady of Shalott. Individuals go by the island constantly, on water crafts and by walking, however they never observe the Lady. Once in a while people working in the fields around the island will hear her singing a peculiar and puzzling tune. The woman spends her days weaving an enchantment web, and that she has been reviled, illegal to look outside. So all things being equal she watches the world pass by in an enchantment reflect. She sees shadows of the men and ladies who pass out and about, and she meshes the things she sees into her web. In any case, One day Sir Lancelot rides by the island, shrouded in gems and sparkling protective layer. At the point when his picture shows up in the mirror, the Lady is so totally spellbound that she breaks the discount and looks her window on this present reality. When she does this and gets a look at Lancelot and Camelot, the enchantment reflect splits, and she knows she's stuck in an unfortunate situation. The Lady finds a vessel by the side of the stream and keeps in touch with her name on it. In the wake of taking a gander at Camelot for some time she rests in the watercraft and neglects it downstream. She floats down the waterway, singing her last melody, and kicks the bucket before she gets to Camelot. The general population of Camelot turn out to see the body of the Lady and her vessel, and are anxious. Lancelot likewise turns out and says that she's beautiful, and says a little supplication for her.
