Poetry #2

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

I have a lot to say, but to be quite honest, I am flat out exhausted. After staring at a computer for 8-15 hours in a day, my eyes often scream, "ENOUGH, WOMAN. ENOUGH!" So, here are a few more I wrote several years back.

BLACK
Black clouds above,
Black hole below,
chilling winds that range and blow.
Icy fingers now taking my breath, closing in
like a shroud of death.
Like a branch that scrapes the window pane,
something inside me now does same.

Despair
Tears that fall from my face,
Swirl with rain in this place.
The deafening shrieks the wild wind makes,
are nothing compared to my heart breaks.
There’s a heavy feeling of sadness and longing,
and the weighting factor of never belonging.
I see a stranger in my own home,
someone's reflection that is not my own.
Lightning streaks through the blackened night,
I feel nothing inside, I see nothing in sight.
To whom do I thank for my timely demise,
that would be me... the one I despise.
