This is my entry for the new Runaway Rhymes 13 hosted by the wonderful @hopehuggs.

FlowTone

Projecting scarcity on existence,
To keep the heavens waiting in suspense.

Just another allusion of control,
Fighting our descent and downward spiral.

Grasping for purchase against the unknown,
Fear letting go with no means to hold on.

Still we struggle making claws with our hands,
Treading endlessly dreaming of new lands.

Filling the empty spaces in between,
While searching for ourselves within each scene.

Running in circles and speaking in rhyme,
While we're all facing this thief we call time.

You are a gentleman and a scholar @clayboyn sir! Love the poem..."fighting our descent" reminds me of something a guest speaker said to us when I was in junior high...he was an addict and the speech was to dissuade us from trying and experimenting with drugs...he said that one night he was so out of it that he was lying on the grass looking into the stars and felt he had to grab onto the grass so he wouldn't fall into the sky. It was an image that has never left me...you just brought me back to that same feeling with your words. Can't thank you enough and keep writing and fighting time!

It seems to be one of those things we all do. Thanks for reading buddy. :)

Creative use of subtlety

Oh my, that last part is so fitting for me:

Running in circles and speaking in rhyme,
While we're all facing this thief we call time.

I feel like I run around in circles all the time and then, woops, where did the time go?

By the way, I nominated you today for the Black & White Photo Challenge. The post in which I reference you is this one: https://steemit.com/sevendaybnwchallenge/@binkyprod/black-and-white-7-day-photo-challenge-day-6

I appreciate it and a few others have too, but I don't really do photography often. I'll leave that to the experts or until I get a camera at least. :P

Cool. A camera is a good start, though you don't need to be an expert for this. I'll look forward to seeing what you can do. In the meantime, I'll continue enjoying your content ;)

U really killed it. Nice one

Treading endlessly dreaming of new lands.
^^^ this line....

It felt like the poem was missing something. That couplet was the last one I wrote, I had to go back and add it. Guess it was for you. :)

I felt it like it was for me ❤
