From (1 of 100):
I'm going to try to challenge myself, and this is the very first one. I am going to try to write 100 Poems in 30 days (essentially, I'm trying to pay for a Birthday Gift for my wife and this is how I want to pay for it). Anyway 100 Poems in 30 Days... should be something to see. I just hope I can come through with good poetry that people enjoy.
Here you can see 40 of 100.
Now to the 41st in this series... let's make some money so I can buy her an even better gift!!
The Serpent
Long, Coiled,
flesh embroiled...
Sanctity unspoiled.
Truest danger,
More than a stranger,
cries joy from a manger.
Messenger of love,
Peace of the dove;
Alas, may not be enough.
Staked to a cross,
The Earth's great loss...
For the dice to toss.
Risen, consecrated being,
Watching and seeing...
Us He is freeing.
Haunting dark abates,
Daylight and joyous mates
the Serpent hates.
"Only lust shall rule,"
hisses the Serpent drool...
"He is no fool.
Greed may conquer trust,
Love may be lost by lust...
Life may be changed to ashes and dust."
Heaven, though, shall shine,
When you become Mine,
for this is His grandest design.
In Haven, Good won't decay,
as sure as in Hell it may...
Now is the Serpent's final play.
