The Thief (Original Poem)

in poetry •  7 years ago

The Thief

No pouch and no dagger,
no hood and no mask.
He’s a thief like no other,
he has no use for cash.

The banks don’t attract him,
of money he’s bored.
The riches he seeks,
are those deeply within.

He’ll smile and he’ll wave,
he’ll nod and behave.
With your trust you’ll reward him.
Just what he craves.

Cause he sees through your front,
and he knows of your pain.
All the shouts at the wind,
all the tears in the rain.

So you won’t catch him sneaking,
he won’t mask his touch.
Yet as soon as you flinch,
of your heart you’ll be robbed.
