Potential’s Conjecture

Love
How to know
When it is real
Or when
It is just
Potential’s conjecture

Because judgement
Stems
From assumption
Of intention

Because jealousy
Stems
From assumption
Of possession

Because the urge
To wander
Stems
From incessant curiosity
From somewhere
Deep
In my soul

Love is a dangerous game

Because distraction
Stems
From time
Spent alone

Because loneliness
Pulls
My heartstrings
When you’re gone

Because
We don’t know
What lies beyond

Yes, love
Is a dangerous game
...........................................

Unconditional Conditioning

A rough one
A heavy one
Because of
In spite of
Carrying me through
Unconditionally
Family

I am who I am because of them
I am not who I am not because of them

My strengths
My weaknesses
My faults
My neuroses
Everything
It is family

The good and the bad
The success and the failures
Because of, in spite of, through everything
Family

Pavones

The lightness that comes
When you say goodbye
To the things that weigh down
Your spirit
Your soul

The lightness that comes
When you check your baggage at the gate

The lightness that comes
When you set yourself free
Embark on your journey
When you get to say - I’m sorry
But
There is only room for me
This time

To recognize fully
What it is that drags you down
To honor, respect, and learn from it
To recognize it
To know it
Is to set yourself free

A warm cigarette
A cool effervescence
A mind and heart carefree
A wind rustling through the branches
A soul
At last
At ease

Remove that rearview mirror
You don’t need it anymore
The lessons you learned
Are within you

Only forward trajectory now
Each moment
Soaked up fully
Carrying you to the next

Tiny Boxes

Keep it in tiny boxes
Yes, keep it to yourself
Too much for them to handle
Your tools up on a shelf

Hidden away from those
Who can’t stomach your reality
Kept up out of reach
From those masters
Of your fate perceived

Well fuck that noise, baby
Get it out before it’s too late
Yes, display your shining self
For the world to see
Let them dance to your words
Let them revel in your reveries

Keep it in tiny boxes they say
Compartmentalize, organize
Fuck that noise, baby
Go ahead and step outside
