Uviewhe nabor gwa jovwo ~ Your kingdom was Majestic!

Owhogran okwotor iro ~ Established upon the foundation of gold

Ose she sewe Solomoni ~ Your father called you Solomon

Beti, Oghene sewe Jedidiah ~ But, God called you Jedidiah


Foke whewhe ehanje regwolor ~ Because you were an expression of love

Agwarhen wve ogele e ~ Your wisdom was unparalleled;

Iohwo leje yoma kpawve ~ You were the envy of every eye

Egwilor wowo kpare emete korile to wheshe ~ Until your lust for women brought you down


O Solomoni, kuwo rishe ~ Oh Solomon, how thou haths fallen,

Kuworishe vrente ruvie ~ Fallen from the lofty height of honor

Kpotor ri wakpor ~ To the low land of immortality

O Ovie Israeli ~ Oh king of Israel


Iyowve iroro ~ Paragon of wisdom

Kuwo rishe ~ How haths thou fallen
