CAN SHE BE IMPRESSED?

What impresses
a woman
who seemingly
has it all?

I can only offer her
things
that money cannot buy
a midnight embrace
under the stars
near the warmth
of a fire
a peaceful
canoe ride
on a pond of glass
at sunrise

The gentle stroking of her hair
or massaging of her body
until she either
asks me to stop
or peacefully
falls asleep
because there is no end
to what I will do
to make her smile

A walk along the coastline
amazed at her perfection
while battling the wind
as it smothers me
in a fragrance
that cannot
be
bottled

I can offer her
trust
honestly
and a will to listen
and try to understand
as best I can
what matters to her
I can offer her myself
but am I good enough
for someone
who makes
me feel again?

She is soft as silk
yet her strength
is not questioned
the most delicate
of beautiful
yet not fragile
so strong alone
that
no
man
could carry her higher
or would ever attempt to
knowing what a privilege
it is
to walk
by her side

She is impressed
by someone real
but being real
in her presence
is
no
easy
task
she makes
my mind believe
that I am
not worthy
of her love
and makes my heart feel
my mind’s concern
she is special
because she does not think she is
yet it is so obvious

If any man
is deserving
of her love
let it be the man
who can
simply
make
her
smile

How does a man with such a noble heart,
moved by feelings so pure, let doubt creep in his mind ,
and think that all that he is,
will not for her be enough..
If she is blind to the knight standing before her,
then she does not deserve such a love,
and of course there must be something wrong with her...

How true @philodendron. This may be the turning point. Learning to turn the mirror away from myself so my reflection is shattered. Brilliantly written and wise. Thank you my friend.

Thank you @soufiani it was taken when the weather could help determine our mood, many months ago!
