No Lending Hand

NO LENDING HAND

When the floor
gives way
free falling
whipping past
those who
watch you
fall

Are those
smiles or
blurry frowns
looks of joy
or sorrow

Either way
no one lends
a hand
for fear of being
dragged down
with you

So you fall
alone
watching those
who watch you
wondering
what you must
have done wrong
