The tropic in the heart

in poetry •  7 years ago

Fresh water sea goes through me

It lies inside of me

I carry its bubbly foam behind my eyes

Two seagulls land in my hair

They want to make a nest, find their home in me

I brought a tiny piece of sun hidden in my heart

The fire is on, to simmer...

I prepare myself to burn

I will roll in my ashes

I will exfoliate my soul with the memories that scourge my demons

I will wash my wounds in saltwater

Trying to cauterize the pain

Come with me

Find me in the pier

Away from the city

Find me in the waves
