Vervain

Vervain to my vampire
Loving you means slowly fading
Looming of an excruciating end
Swift death as a daydream
Saving myself is a stake in the heart
Being alive but still mummified
Senses extant somehow paralyzed
A whole body the heart without
You make it easy to pick a path
I was destined for a death like this
I have no protests, none at all
With a smile I gently depart
Holding the heart of my vervain.
