"Lights Out" - A Poem

in poetry •  6 years ago

On. Off.
Binary
Lights flash
Blindingly
In a space
Once darker
Than a word could
Convey
Zap. Electricity
Had its way
Faster than a blink
Currents flow
And when you think
You know
What's now?
What's next?
They all turn off
With no clue what to expect

I wrote three whole poems over the last 36 hours. That's not a huge quantity but I've had a bit of a writing drought recently so I'm excited it might be over :D. I'll post one or both of the others when I get a spare moment.

Peace.
