Don't lose the real by playing spiel (a poem)

Hullo! How y'all doing? Let's drop some poetry in this.
It's about the lost adventures that were exchanged by digital ones.

This square-shaped piece of plastic thing
It came to life and shone like *bling*
Eyes stung until they stung no more
The best window out there, we swore

So, laid we were by that cool tool
Inquiring themes that made us drool
What's that, you asked. You'll understand -
By reaching certain age - at hand

Still, you can check what we had found
For everyone - a fool-around!
Become a panda, monk, or mini-gun
[Insert your wish] it can be done!

Thus days and weeks and months went by
From blooming March till hot July
Of climbing mountains, crossing seas
Yet pale we looked like hostages

What's that, you asked pointing at us
You look so sick, go out you must!
No, thanks. We're good right where we are.
Don't make a fuss, don't act bizarre!

It's what we dig, it's what we like
Cheer up, don't be so business-like,
alright?

So, please don't interfere with this
It's our choice and our bliss
And our lives are marvelous
If you can't see, don't hate on us.

So all in all life took its course
For some quite smooth, for some more coarse
Some others, though, had lost control
Ignoring life had its own toll.

Ey, what the heck?! Hold on a sec!
The current date I will go check
