Winter came and you walked away

in poetry •  8 years ago

The warmth you graced me with
the solace you healed me with
when your cold fingers tingled mine,
and I was on the cloud nine

The cup of coffee touching your lips
Like you caressed me with your fingertips
Wiping the snow off my hair
with endless love and care

The wind tangling my hair
And you making effort to untangle them with care
failing every time and looking at my eyes
giving me that breathtaking smile

The uncountable sips of coffee we took
And carved our names in the tree in nook
The gloves I stole from you
When we had made memories, oh few!

They are still on my hands
but there’s no warmth anymore
because they are deprived,
of the heavenly touch of yours

When the snowflakes tickled your nose
With that perplexed look, eyebrows you rose
Oh, do you remember the snowman we made?
The one who witnessed our love which would never fade

Darling, my eyes are still searching for yours
for those eyes hold the serenity and beyond
we ended so soon, but hope our love never does
for the snow, leaves and the moon have been the witnesses of the buzz

My ears are longing to hear your voice
My eyes are dying for your gaze, with no choice
The mark you’ve left on my soul
Makes me realize how beautiful we were as a whole

I dreamed to be with you everyday
but alas! winter came and you walked away
shattering my dreams with the harsh words of yours
leaving my soul as empty as before

But, oh darling, the fallen leaf is the source of my hope
for after it’s fallen, there's always some new to come
So even if you choose not to care for me
Don’t you worry honey, I'll pick me up!
