Spirit of Rain

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

The grass is waiting for our feet.
All tears have fallen in vain,
Vaporized by the pounding heat,
But fear not, here comes the rain.

Another day, another lie.
With me, come watch the day
Shift and fade and pass us by.
We do too much for such sparse pay.

There is someone whom I must meet,
Who goes through life without name.
The crows chew and tear their meat,
But to wash it away, comes the rain.

Please feel free to criticize this. I’m just beginning to write “poetry”. I would appreciate any feedback. Also, I’m incredibly embarassed posting this 😂
