River - Poem

in poetry •  8 years ago

Gently flowing by the side,
Carrying all through its ride,
Waiting for none to guide,
Will certainly meet the ocean wide.

Valley originates round a river,
Civilizations here flock together,
Rising livelihood as ever,
Wishing floods to come never.

Rivers also sometimes ravage,
Turning everything into savage,
If it flows with such a rage,
Rises terror, in minds of different age.

But an important lesson to learn,
The determination we need to earn,
On life’s path, hurdles you shun,
Meet the destination, no matter whatever in between comes.
