Dreaded Love

Cursed and hissed at, all he could was stare

Feeling dejected and rejected, he wiped the tears off his cheeks

A lost cause he thought to himself, a case where no one can be redeemed

He staggered to his feet, looked at the face of his punishers

Smirking, his bloodshot eyes pierced the audience who had stoned him

Condemned for loving the wrong woman

A case of Romeo and Juliet, a love story full of tragedy

He screamed out aloud with a sharp cry

Why should we fight love ?

Why should we go against each other cause we of different colors ?

Or because we are of different clan

She was his Beyonce with gorgeous look

Her stature was that of Nicki Minaj, the full package

She got him high as if he did hard drugs

All for her love,he was ready to lay down his life

She was to die for, with her beside him he could conquer the world

A fair damsel she stood afar, looking ahead at her lover

With an elegance of a peacock and feline steps of cat, she raced to her lover

With teary eyes, biting her lips she hugged him from behind

He was her hero, saving her love countless of times

She loved him more than she ever loved anyone

With him she was fearless as Diana

Both lovers stood in trance as they world flew right past them

Holding on tight they breathe their last as the shots were fired

Lovers till death do us part they were

With a name like fatty acid, I just had to stop in. A gripping poetic tale here. Loved the image you chose for the poem and the references to both old and new mythical figures was effective. How long have you been writing poetry?

Thanks for the comment

Quite some while
