Still of the Night
On a cool October’s eve
Darkness falls quickly yielding to night
As the last of the leaves cling to bare branches
Giving way to a beautiful yet eerie sight
A feeling freshness is in the air
The crisp calm breeze
Filling my nostrils
As I slowly and deeply breathe
The moon is full
It illuminates with otherworldly glow
Animating shadows as trees sway to and fro
As the gentle breeze blow
My mind wanders with the season
What is out there in the darkness?
What lurks among the shadows?
Perhaps my imagination runs wild
Perhaps no one knows
