Flashback; The First Poem I Ever Wrote, "Tomorrow Never Comes"

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Against the tyranny of my mind,
My heart has rebelled,
And but for a faint glimmer of hope,
This high-treason would not be upheld,
And when my mind is a maelstrom,
And my soul all but tapped,
Know that these empty eyes are anything but that,
For I know with will there's a way,
But try as I might, can't find it today
Now I worry if the old adage is true

Tomorrow Never Comes

I can see the poetic uniqness of this piece...I like this one, very metaphorical.

Jeez. Thanks! Just put some pep in my step there... or fingers typing.
