Poem - A fading Photograph...By Me

Fading photographs, forgotten laughs.
Youth never lasts but in our hearts.
Our eyes turn down the sadness in our soul,
As we realize we are growing old.
A chance to mature, to experience new things,
To see love anew, and the depths it brings.

Is this an old forgotten friend I see?
A flashback of one who died I now see so vividly.
Excuse me for a moment, I am getting nostalgic,
The mind messaged the eyes, a small remit;
Shed a tear for the friends you have lost,
The misery, the hurt. For what cost?

If only our minds could remember clearly,
We would not need words; the depth of the poetry.
But as it all is, everything comes to an end,
It is not an if, or how, but simply when.
For each one is not guaranteed a chance,
To look back in life, his fading photograph.
