you are:
the shying away from first kisses,
until fireworks beg us to perform
and applaud
amidst glittering tails
of teal, crimson
and silver
as if to celebrate us
finally finding our way to each other
you are:
the overlooked beauty in
appleblossom
unknowing of their delicate scent,
until the one who appreciates
the small, sweet, precious things,
taps nose to petal
like hummingbird beak
to nectar
you are:
the fashioner of wild halos
the weaver of dandelion crowns,
My favourite adornment, still
next to: kisses upon eyelid,
upon eyelid
upon forehead
for the gentlest of coronations
you are:
the smiles that ache like sunburns
to serve as reminders for being
granted to so much light
the smiles that emerge
unexpectedly
like full moons you
didn’t anticipate
to rise behind us;
the kind that when i say
‘it’s beautiful”
you say
“just like you”
you are:
the sunset on benches
laughing at memories
from before we had become
there, in that moment
the magic of looking back
to see how far we’ve come
and how it lead us
to right where we are,
here.
in this moment.
and all time stops.
and this earth is transcended.
and i am only aware of everything
that
you are.
