Parallel universe

in poetry •  7 years ago

There’s no parallel universe
in which she didn’t break me
and my heart

I ran out of saliva
licking my wounds
until the scabs fell off

The taste of her
replaced by the one of blood
my thick red blood

So here I present you
with the deep scars of my soul
See them heal
watch them go

There’s no parallel universe
no wonderland of “us”
for “what ifs” times are over

Here
I move on
