POEM: The Greenland

in poetry •  7 years ago

Yo Steemians!

It's been a while since I did poetry here. Well, I'm ending the hiatus with this poem of hope for my country, Nigeria.

Enjoy!

My country, my only country,
A land that once flowed with honey
Now drenched in soured milk,
With leaves malnourished and sick

Clamouring is the order of the day
The Easterners are trying to find their way
A scuffle between the Jihadist and Crusaders
Heads are nothing but erratic leaders

Economy on its way down the drain
Crime and inhumanity outwits the brain
The struggles of brave fathers are brought to nought
When children forget how hard they fought

Though, it seems foolish to believe
But deep down, somewhere inside of me
A voice says we should keep up the strife
In no time, the Greenland will thrive!

This poem is dope! It talks so about the current Nigeria. However, Nigeria shall be great again.
All hands just have to be on deck to achieve this.
