Ghost children : Original Poem & Photo

in poetry •  8 years ago

In a dream I rushed to hug you!

I held your small body and cried out.

I didn’t know you existed!

I was so utterly sorry for not being there earlier!

You needed a father and I had not known of you!

I wept and held you.

Sobbing for what you endured

Without me

What I’d missed.

Promising to never let you go

I picked you up from the floor.

As I held you

I woke up crying.

Never had a dream left me in tears.

Never

My tears flowed to you all morning.

I miss you! —dago
