a lost era?

there are so many of us out here,
waiting.
waiting for that dream that never came.
a lost era, an era of love, peace and freedom.
the unity of the people amongst chaos;
the young ones protesting, singing songs,
rolling joints, dancing freely,
all in search of a better world.
the spirit was inevitable,
instilled upon thousands of kids;
a wave of togetherness washes over the shore of bodies,
collaborating the power of their curious minds.

*

there are so many questions,
and answers don't come easy and convenient.
"nobody's right, if everybody's wrong."
what if we're living a lie that we helped to construct?
are we workers in a chinese factory of this universe,
making cheap and poor quality goods,
when in fact, we could get some justice,
and start producing crates and crates of love...

*

i often wonder, what's the point?
of course, i live on my own terms.
one can't help but be an observer and voyeur of its own life.
paranoia smite me sometimes,
when i feel that we're living a lie.
all the problems in this world, will lead to our own collapse.
our ultimate apocalypse. is that the point?
how can we be true?
how can we know that we're being real?
think. resist what the masses are trying to sell you.

*

my fellow people, pause and think.
are we trying to live up to this image of being true,
or are we just digging our own graves?
is that our human nature? a path leading to demise?
don't judge my friends. just listen.
we need to listen.
listen to the heartbeat of the society.
it's beating. faintly. slowly.
the heart of life is good.
now, mankind, it's your turn to be good.
it's only fair.

Amazing! I wish I could write like you but I'm not good with words as you can see. :D

Very telling poem especially in these days, when humanity does not care about anything and everyone lives their own way.

I enjoyed it, thank you. With so much division and confusion in this world today, it almost seems impossible to engender positive changes. We can only hope and be positive. thanks again.

Life is always unfair. Deal with it. Awesome thought. I's an eye-opener to everyone.
