Still we get called different names
For the sins of people not known
Not minding the hours spent under the sun
Just to make all ends meet.
Alone in the garden full of fruits
Till he had a company and lost his way
The curse on men was clearly spelt out
From our ancestors till this present generation
Breaking grounds with every sweat
Till the day we truly rest in peace.
Puberty springing up uncontrollably
Maturity when we are not yet ready
No one to blame for this rapid growth
The sweat of man to stay sane
Despite the hurdles life pushes at us
We still remain the head of the house.
Temptations flying around in shape of skirts
Even to be a father ain't an easy job
Think of Tariq in the tv series called Power
The pain he caused his family
What a strong man to still stand through the pain
We men are truly the VIPs of the world.
This poem was a reflection I got from the Tv show; Power. How a son can be ungrateful to a father that has given him everything despite the hurdles he faced when he was growing up. I dedicate this poem to all hardworking, intelligent, diligent,loyal and faithful men out there.
Men and fathers do play a very important role in all global societies. Without men, we wouldn't have the next generation and the example that men set for children. I don't think we value fathers as much as we should so I'm glad you have brought this to the surface. Good poem!
