Gaston, the Gourmand Gourmet (A Limerick)

... and now for something fun ....

Gaston, the Gourmand Gourmet

Gaston was a gourmand gourmet from the start,
His knowledge of epicure he did inimitably impart,
To all who would pass,
Be they lad, be they lass,
Though they all did make haste to depart.

Gaston, the gourmand gourmet, couldn’t cook,
Though he’d read every tome, every book,
Then one day he spied,
An entrée he tried,
A concoction so simple to look.

So pleased was Gaston, gourmand gourmet, with his dish,
With the platter piled high with its herbs and its fish,
He paraded the street,
To announce his great feat,
And waved his chef’s hat with a swish.

Gaston, gourmand gourmet, scratched his head,
None would taste his grand dish, though he’d pled,
So he popped in a morsel,
Which happened to be dorsal,
And Gaston, gourmand gourmet, fell down dead.
