Philosophy - Is It A Science?
An Original Poem by Jeffery A. Kubitz
It's a doctorate of philosophy
Each and every scientist has
Doctor of jurisprudence
So legal and so grand
The engineers don't sophistry
They just make the gas
Is it the Marx of excellence
All across the land
A negation results in these
A positive-ation position
Is never near to sight
There's all these people with their flaws
Just like honking geese
Making life decisions
Like hackers attempts to light
The bank accounts of people
Like construction workers steeple
Like hammers handily swung
Like masons and mortar
Mix cement and rocks for new
Actually perform ethnography
First hand observed evidence do
He went and saw no primitives
No injuns but he said
All hunters and gathers - the same
Yet each and ev'ry nation
Has different name
None were raised up
By the state
And though it seems so odd
Only Cherokee could read
But have the book of life
In their memories
And there is ancient slavery
A debt that must be paid
Just man the wars
Chained to the oars
Just like a galley knave
God puts to you the question
Who invented the true freedom
In the garden of Eden
With finger wrote the law on stone
Oh that was so long ago
It must be myth they say
Yet I take my finger
Idea, theory, hypothesis, experiment
While does burn around the world
While clouds of ashes fly
With all life dead
All lands, trees burned
One wrote what one espied
The resurrection of all again
The innocent of all life
Birds chirp during day
Crickets, frogs the night
What's this about knights?
All feudal kingdoms equal
From slavery's minor change
Well what the hell's a yeoman?
Peons and serfs the same
What's a magna carta
And what does it mean
What are buildings castled
Ruled by Kings and Queens
Women are not equal
But rule the world it seems
God am I truly paranoid?
He says there's no such thing
There's something out to get you
Human beings on mortal wings
As clouds do blot the sky
Armor for the board
So mighty and so sly
With tusks and teeth
That rip and spread
With hides on arrows bounce
I'll get myself a charger
Drive 'lectric cars around
Round tables for discussion
Nobles on chairs butts ground
They had an equal say
For chalice searched the world
While their lives gave way
And peasants toiled, sweat
A black plague caused red death
Napoleon came bursting in
The nobles learned some French
It was mercantilism
Still had some stench
Everybody worked at home
They made all that you see
There was the death of Mir
They fell from the sky
They didn't pay enough I hear
And so they oh so dear
Gave their lives to those
Who used to sew their clothes
Did philosophers see this
As a play with words
Like a poets and writers
Who perform on page
Like actors so directed
Play upon the stage
As the rain begins to fall
To tick the metal roof
Empires, civilizations
Rise and all
We enter capitalism's mirth
Oh but how we made so much
The invention patents raced
Factories and food
Clothes
Cars
Nothing for the mason,
Plumber and carpenter
Ever changed at all
Just tall and taller
The sweat was all the same
All the lawyers with laws
A fish by finger
Brings the rain
Surely one must call upon
That which isn't there
That's why in World War II
We made all the planes for you
We could have left you taken
Married to the camps
Gassed to meet eternity
By the current champs
While against capitalism
You rant and rant and chant
But for the people never changed?
For fun denounce their sayings
Of those great philosophers
Who never built a thing
Who never sowed
Or reaped a harvest
Made much of anything
Socrates they poisoned
He did no Spartan acts
I hear talk of freedom
But at least I invented
Light
It's a science thing, see
Compared to incandescents
There's high efficiency
I wrote about it
Tried to make a new
Industry
Artificial intelligence
Saw and took from me
Handed it to a schmuck
How's your democracy
Socialists invented unions
We always called them guilds
For screen actors, writers, ...
Because they make history films
All those planes, guns, ammo,
Artillery,
We shipped to you for free
The borrowed gov't money
For that we're still in debt
I see
Philosophy's no science
There's whores in every land
And what do I think about women?
Don't we come from them?
How's your democracy today?
Turn off the air conditioning,
I say
In this heroic philosopher
Roast
Thanks!
Social Evolution huh?
What happens if they catch you giving
