Everyday Life

I normally don't write much poetry, but I came across this in one of my journals a few days ago. I'm not sure when it was written as I didn't date it.

Everyday Life

I am not something to be seen daily
to be brought out for special occasions
like expensive champagne in beautiful fluted glasses
that will shatter like crystal memories that have been analyzed for one second too long
That night, I am everything -
the air that enters your lungs,
but when the sun rises, you forget to breathe
and I am no longer now, -
just a thing to be kept until the next time
