From the Paint Box

Summer is orange
Winter is blue,
And tonight
I am without you—

The silver flash
of minnows
In the ocean
Above
Is now inside me.

Cold
Green apples
Bare
White flesh
On counters
In metal bowls

And the Moon
Rises clear
And cold.

Everything
Washed
By the Moon
Fades
To blue

On the deserted beach
A demiurge
Forms
And flings
Snowball stars
Far out
Into the universe.

And I
In the midst
Of a night
Hard and cold

Stand

Transfixed
By a memory
Never old…

The touch
Of your warm hand.

Wow... Sometimes I don’t have a response.

and that's okay...that's how I feel sometimes when I view an abstract painting. I can appreciate the colours and texture and what it does inside me and sometimes that's enough :)

Great example. :)

You know , sometimes you just feel like there is no words can explain what is in your mind , you feel like you are lost in space , I loved your poem..

thank you, @mcreg

Beautiful!

nice prose he said ...

What a palette of enchantment! .... a demiurge flinging snowball stars out into the universe... love that part especially, John. You are a master of words. :)

well, you're pretty masterful yourself, Tina - so I take that as a real compliment :)

good job.

"The sliver flash
of minnows..."

Typo? Or am I just not "getting it?"

Love your poetry, John... :D

😄😇😄

@creatr

yep, ye olde typo....hate them - should be silver - I have dyslexic fingers - correcting it now

So glad I could assist in eradicating it before it turned into a pumpkin... ;)

Keep on exercising those lexdysic fingers... :D
