We fled those years
Down windy nights
Of racing clouds
When the moon was
A flickering light bulb.

You were the moon
On those endless nights
When women
In white dresses
Haunted me.

Those vapors,
Those nightly apparitions—
How they pursued me.

It causes me pain
To wonder
If your soul
Still wanders in sleep?

But I go on—
Still incomplete,
And restless
Drained by everything

Wasting
Cloudy afternoons
In outdoor cafes
Where the patio umbrella
Drips rain
Like faint blue paint...

It leaves me faint
Haunted to the last

By you
And murky ghosts
Of lovers past.

Huye luna, luna, luna,
que ya siento sus caballos.
Niño, déjame, no pises
mi blancor almidonado.

Lorca de mis amores!;)

Very nice.

Beautiful poem. The painting did you do it? It is very representative and gorgeous.

thank you - I only paint in words, but I love visual art :)

That painting is by Viktor Oliva. It is titled "The Absinthe Drinker" (1900). It is one of my favourite portraits of La Fée Verte, which translates into English as "The Green Fairy".

Great. Thank you very much!

Oh I love it John! Too good to elaborate on this one, it speaks for itself! Love the painting too. RESTEEMED😍🍀🌈💛🦋🌴

Thanks sallybeth :)

'Tis a welcome read. Your "Murky Ghosts" poem, along with that image of "The Absinthe Drinker" (1900) by Viktor Oliva is reminiscent, to me, of Paul Verlaine's despair and melancholy.

Thank you for your perceptive response - I usually get occasional comments about the text, but rarely about the sub-text, and as for allusions, practically never, so thank you for being unusually clever :)

Great poem and art!

Your bro today you find a interesting or illuabls topic which are ghost there are many conclusions about ghost in our world but nothing is final nothing is correct there are just the illusion of Mind someone says they are real someone says their just a state of mind a new face of fear also the scientist are not sure about it so it's very interesting on one thing to believe

I leave you with your same breath:
as moisture from your body evaporated.
I leave you with vigil and with sleep,
and in your most faithful memory I already erase.
And in your memory I become like those
that were not born in plains or in groves.
