Night Watch

Pale green sky
And purple clouds—
This winter twilight
Is how I feel
Right now

Somber, yet serene
Waiting for the spring
With vestiges of snow
As reminders of where
We've been

At night the wind
Blows over the house
Seeking a way in—
A crack, a hole,
But finding none
Fills the dark with ominous groans

It's always there
The cold cruel dark
Trying to get in,
But I keep you safe
From frigid touch...

You, and the cat
Curled up
Upon the couch

Ooooh my God

Very pleasant subject matter. Is that painting a Renoir? It is just right to complement your work.
