Outlier

I still see you
In a darkened church
At evening

A dark shawl
Covering
Your too bright hair

As you try hard
To be subdued
And fail gloriously

The candles
Spin gold auras
From your tresses

As you pass the votive stand
And slip behind
Confessional curtains

And I go there in my mind
As the panel opens
And you chant your sins
and mine

All the venial trespasses
That can be expiated
By a prayer

But for one dark outlier
Than can’t be banished
So easily

Who watches regrettably
Wishing you free

Not living with somebody
Quite as dark as he.

thanks, @lalitswami, but saying a poem is awesome isn't helpful - point out something specific about the poem that you liked. If you notice, I'm not rewarding your spammy short comments

I love this poem. "Outlier"

But for one dark outlier
Than can’t be banished
So easily..

Poems carries meaning than whats written down, most especially, when its fully understood. and that why I myself love writing poems

why did you single out those lines in particular - what do they mean to you? Be specific when you comment and your curation rewards will increase and you may even attract followers

Thanks @johnjgeddes. I refer to those lines because that's where I got to understand the poem.
The world "Outlier" means a detached part from a whole. Something different from others.

Romanians refers to venial as a small, considerable sins that can be make up for. But dark outlier to my understanding from this poem to me, is like a behavior that can be tagged evil, a heavy grave sin, such that can't be easily forgiven.

Meanings are hidden in those words. "Venial" "Expiated" "Outlier" "banished".

HI John, thanks for sharing your work with us. it is much appreciated. I enjoy the works of others, as it seems to resonate with my work, well at least some of my work. Again, thanks for sharing and looking forward to more.
