Vision

A steady rain
Darkens the house
Blurs the panes
And the world without;

Shrinks my world
To one small room
Where a bubbling fire
Relieves the gloom.

The storm is a mirror—
A darkened glass,
Haunted with images
From the past;

The foggy shapes
Outside the walls
Speak with your voice
And gently call.

I refuse this grief
Push sorrow away
But in the darkened mirror
You appear plain as day.

Melancholy and nostalgia do not know walls, @johnjgeddes! When so, it is difficult to look outside without feeling that inside something is broken, returns to the past, is not gone. The gaze stops at the colors of the landscape, at the clock that does not advance, but it is also seen in that cracked mirror that is the soul. Apparently, there's no way that the rain won't bring back memories with its rain! Sometimes it is necessary to get wet to know that not all the rains are romantic nor underneath it all dance. Nice night!

Very true, my friend and very poetic - not all rains are romantic; some are shining mirrors that show what's hidden in our souls

Nyce ... atmospheric and expressionistic perfection, John:) Love this one:)
