Spoken to never return,
a missile has be thrown,
and now the heart mourns in desolation,
soaring eagles has landed with a thud,
never to conquer the cloud's grandeur,
The tongue has let a loose a cannon,
the beautiful trees of Lebanon
has been hewed in dilapidated pieces,
A bird has been butchered,
and now there are feathers in the air.
The mouth is a conveyor belt,
that projects the darkness in the heart,
a scabbard with dripping dreams,
that ends the peace that dwells within,
a weapon unseen, but felt in a billion places
a words has been spoken,
a tear has been brewed,
like the gloomy face of the clouds
a thousands feathers in the air.
The mind has taken to slander,
a seed of animosity germinates,
like a boomerang unreturning,
The mouth has scattered seed of hurting,
planted turmoil in the most peaceful of souls,
but like a journey to the grave,
feathers in the air are gone forever
never to be gathered again.
I look to the sun,
from whence comes my help
but lying tongues are everywhere,
penning down painful memoirs,
feathers has been blown by the ferocity of the wind,
and the emotion is lit up in agony,
an urging to breathe no longer lives,
feathers in the air are like spoken speeches
never again to be unspoken.
POETIC NOTES & ANALYSIS
The speeches of man holds very strong influence, it can be a decree, to either sustain a life or take a life, it may be a plea in some other cases it comes as a form of good tidings in other situation it can end discoveries, musings, bring unfavorable day dreams and of course break resolutions as well. The speech of man is what makes him unique, however it can also be the end of him otherwise.
The poet describes the mouth as a conveyor belt, that's too say the mouth is only a channel and the real origin of the speech is the heart, in this case the poet looks at speech as an extinguisher. The poet looked at so many people's dream that's been ended because somewhere some how they've been told they may not been capable to accomplish anything. The poet however highlights the fact that the speech or the spoken word of man once spoken can never be returned and that's why he used the imagery feathers in the air to convey the fact that spoken words can never be unspoken.
As much as the spoken word gives life, makes a heart gladden, bring hope and psych a downtrodden heart so also in that essence it can accomplish the opposite.
