A New life, A New Day

in poetry •  8 years ago

a new life, a new day
i don't believe her,
i pity her misery.
like a doorway in the wind.
the wind in her hand.

i am the child
in love with his teacher
i am the boy
in love with his youth.

i am the man
who looked to the horizon,
and seen the sun low with pain.
the sun was low for too long.

a great many
of the same old lyrics,
with me today
this i know.
but once there was none;
and the wind has blown
with many tears
and many years of sunsets.
