I woke up today...

So I woke up today,
From dreaming about a baby,
Children I do not know In the real world.
I dreamt about teaching them.
Was it a poem, a song or simple arithmetic? I do not know.
I had the little one strapped to my back for her eyes were heavy with sleep,
While I engaged the older ones with some work.

I woke up today,
It was from a dream,
One I was eager to see how it ended.
Of children in a classroom, learning happily.
I dreamt about helping them with their task,
Teaching them to master their tools
Isn't that the job of a teacher?

I woke up this morning,
Wondering if the dream I had last night had any significance.
I had a baby strapped to my back, she was beautiful and gentle.
She quickly fell asleep as she enjoyed the warmth and comfort my back offered.
Wasn't that what I was doing for many years in the real world?

I woke up today
It was the voice of Tina,
Calling me to go shower, for the hot water was ready.
And I remembered the dream of last night.
This was not the result of some premeditated thoughts.
For in the real world, I was done with the classroom and chalkboard.
Isn't this what I have been telling myself?

I woke up today,
In thesame house, living in my fantasies.
Still far away from my dreams,
How far from there am I?
This is the question I have been pondering on.

Its nice that you wrote your dream like a poem. I think dreams can really clean up our minds. Sometimes when I dreamt it is like my mind is more energetic and I get new ideas.

Children are the most important to us humans... I had some scare dreams many years ago that my child would die... it was before I became a father to @angeloextreme , sometimes I worry about him, but every time I talk with him (from time to time), then I can see that he is healthy, happy and strong. I see him sunday in a cafe.

Hugs from a confused and warm Copenhagen.

Thank you @lasseehlers.😁😁 I try to express myself in different ways and forms depending on my mood. Yes I love children and I've been a teacher for just five years. It's just funny to me these days the rate at which I dream about kids and classroom 😂😂

Wow! You dreamt that you lost your child even before he was born? Like how do you dream of losing something you don't have yet? Dreams are totally strange. Sometimes I can't connect them with the real world.

Thanks again for the opportunity to be a Lassse Angel.

I see, you are an Avatar (made persona) movie character... I have been in touch to understand the most inner feelings about poems... but that's personal. I need to respect the ways you are trying first to express yourself... then When I "connect"... I will understand. Please.. keep it up.

Awww! @forykw thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for seeing this poem in my light
