Fear Isn't A Scary Word

in poetry •  6 years ago

Fear, what a frightful word
It sounds awful just saying it
Why would we want to use it
At all?

Such a harmless looking word
Only four simple letters
Yet so powerful

How can such a simple four lettered word
Be so powerful?
It seems wrong somehow
Like the word is trying to be bigger than it deserves

Maybe it’s not the word
Maybe it’s the feeling associated with it
We empower the word with our feelings
And then blame the word

Just goes to prove that a scary word
With no emotion
Isn’t scary at all!

Thank you for reading and remember to keep smiling 😊

Fear enlarges when we magnify it. So we can choose not to focus on the fear, but to have faith that we can overcome. :)

Very true @michelleloh168. Thank you for your support.

A very motivational philosophy... thanks for sharing this poetry

Thank you @abmakko, I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

While fear strikes the deepest of uncertainties and insecurities, love, also a four letter word, is stronger. Love never fails, and love casts out fear! :)

Beautiful @alimamasstory. I never even thought about that. Very clever of you and I couldn't agree more.

WE let the word be bigger than it deserves... like your style!!
