Violet eyes (working title)

in poetry •  7 years ago

Violet eyes that were with life once seething,
Purple eyes, black ribboned, gold flecked, sealed shut,
Mocked by violets in black tresses wreathing,
And scattered yellow sapphires diamond cut,
Once held me within their wild perfection,
Once held me helpless, reeling, loving pain,
Once took me with sunlight in reflection,
From hell to heaven and back to hell again.
