if i took the hand of time
and let you move through
every completed moment

and you saw
a glimpse
of everything you’ve done
and didn’t do

and you became
nothing again

when i released the
clock
and time started once more

what would you do
again
would you act and move
with grace

though all those moments
rocky and beautiful
that defined you,

and led you into
this beautiful
disaster
that you are
now.

or would you
let yourself become
born again
new and whole
within your damaged world.
