Small World

in poetry •  7 years ago

The world gets small in winter when trees are thin and bare.
Things usually hidden are apparent everywhere.
The steeple two towns over pops into view from here.
Stores that seemed so far away are suddenly quite near.
Was the distance just illusion? Has it always been so small?
The world seems so much larger before the leaves all fall.
