'To the girl with cherry red boots' - a Poem

this is my tendency,
to summarise with cherry redness
what I couldn’t, in the moment-

captivated by a cigarette
behind the ear, the jet black skinnies,
turn and smirk

or is that rude of me to say?
says you, a figment, just
a pigmentation in a pair of shoes

I never knew, have never spoken to,
untroubled by these imitations
empty on a word-filled page.
