The Irrelevant Jury - Original

in poetry •  7 years ago

Hear ye the cry of the irrelevant jury!
As time goes by, sinful feelings carry on surely,
Violent echoes ring from the bell carrying the verdict Guilty.
Listen, dear loved ones, in the street
To the clinking of chained ankles on shuffling feet;
The unfelt dreams of the throne within the seat.

Gather round to watch the calling of the panels
Hailing and praising the builder who dismantles.

Feel the empty weight of the medal stolen,
The sweat filled wounds by a system broken,
The overlooked power of the prophets chosen.
Look, oh masses, at the image twisted,
At the rejection of the message enlisted
Unless spoken by one who peaked unassisted.

Hear the voices of the growing wave
Modern revolutionaries, warriors strong and brave.

Watch my friends, the finality of it all.
The inability to understand our world’s call;
Skyscrapers shudder as left and right statues fall.
Hear ye the cry of the irrelevant jury!
Their last voice of desperation and fury
To tear down their neighbors, their quarry.

Tell me my sons, about what you read today,
About how the men of the irrelevant jury lost their way.

Thanks for reading! :)
