On Clarity

in poetry •  7 years ago

Today I banged my head on a wall.
I ripped it off and let it fall.
When I had finally lost my mind.
I had the answers I wished to find

I went through a severe depression a few years back. To me it was like living in a fog where the outside world was reduced to fleeting images. In that fog I could never confront my problems for they had lost all form. They were shapeless distortions of the original issue, they were intangible. There was no confronting them, they were perhaps no longer even relevant but their after effects lingered. I resorted to writing poems to give me a reason to wake up daily. This was the first poem I wrote.
